Privacy
This page describes what the NorthStock Shopify app (“the app”) actually collects and stores. It is written for store owners and for Shopify App Store review.
Who we are
The app is an inventory operations tool that runs inside Shopify Admin. Questions: experiencedECM@gmail.com.
What we store
- The shop domain after you install the app.
- An offline Shopify access token and refresh token so the app can update inventory for that shop.
- Settings you enter: company name, store capacity, book and supplier settings, an optional BiblioShare key, and the current plan status.
- Help notes you send (name, email, optional phone, description, and photos). Those are emailed to support. They are not kept as a customer database.
What we do not store
This app does not store Shopify customer personal data. We do not keep storefront customer names, emails, phones, or addresses as our own records. We do not store payment card numbers.
When staff open a report, the app may read product, inventory, location, transfer, and order figures from Shopify. Order reads are paid line quantities only, used to estimate days of stock and reorder amounts. Those figures stay in Shopify. They are not saved here as customer files.
Why we use the data
- To connect the app to your store and keep the connection working.
- To count, receive transfers, adjust stock, and report on inventory.
- To bill the plan you choose through Shopify.
- To answer a help request you send.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. Shopify holds the store catalog and customer records. The app is hosted on Render. Store settings are kept in Postgres. Help notes are sent by email. Shopify processes the monthly charge.
How long we keep it
Shop tokens and settings stay until you uninstall. After uninstall we remove that shop’s connection and settings. We keep a note that the shop already used its free trial, so reinstalling does not start a new 30-day trial. About 48 hours after uninstall, Shopify sends a shop delete request and we remove any leftover shop tokens and settings. Help emails stay in the support inbox.
Privacy requests
The app implements Shopify’s required privacy webhooks:
- Customer data request — we have no storefront customer records to provide.
- Customer delete — we have no storefront customer records to delete.
- Shop delete — we delete that shop’s tokens and settings. We keep a record that the shop used its free trial.
